Carlos was 43 years too young to leave us, but it’s not for us to understand, he went home to glory surrounded by loved ones at his side.
Carlos was born on November 29, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois to Virginia Sherry Pelikan-Pittman and Joseph Keith Lofthouse. At 10, his mom decided Texas was the place to be, so she took him with his siblings and moved to Northwest Houston, Texas in August of 1991. Carlos shared love with everyone and shared it big wherever he went, you could say he loved like God loved. Carlos was employed at Mahindra, where he worked until he became ill.
After his mom and step-dad moved to God’s Hill Country, Carlos flourished in his relationship with the Lord at Copperfield Church, where he was loved and cherished. He knew how to put a smile on the faces of others. He eventually began to serve for the Lord and enjoyed it very much. Carlos’ big heart for his family and sister’s cooking always put a smile on his face.
Carlos is survived by his mom, Virginia Sherry Pittman, his dad Joseph Keith Lofthouse, (Diane Lofthouse, his 2nd lil mom), sister Bernadette Alicia Cheeley (Glen) brother Brandon Lofthouse (Mark Bridgemen) Joseph Lofthouse, step-sisters Teri Naramore (Jake), Cheri Green (David) Lola Rivas (Rafael) Anthony Wechet (Nelly) and Michelle Wechet. He is preceded in death by his step-dad Bruce Lynn Pittman and his big brother Robert L Castrejon (Bob), who met him at the gates.
Carlos loved being a Tio’ except when it came to video games, he wanted the remote more than the nephews or nieces. He was honored to be called Tio’ by Robert, Mateo, J.R.,November, Jazlynn, Tyler, Kianna, Savanna, Nathan, Logan, Sam, Clara, Ava, Matthew and Luke and he even had two great nephews, Miles and Alistair. He enjoyed family time because it meant he got those home cooked meals.
Many would remember when he called me Maaaa, it makes me laugh in a joyful memory, Maaaa. Although he moved to Houston, Texas, Carlos was devoted to his Chicago sports teams, especially when he would visit his dad and head over to Soldier Field to watch our Chicago Bears or Wrigley Field to see our Cubbies. He enjoyed the times at Dad’s and Lil Mom’s place with memories of boating at the lake, fishing or outdoor barbecues, just the time he got to be there with family. His name, well, his Grandpa was Carl Leslie Smith, but always wanted to be called Gonzalez, so it was an honor to his grandpa and Carlos loved it!
Carlos will be missed, but he leaves behind memories that will carry us through our pain and will be with us always and forever. So from this moment on, let’s remember the smile or laughter he shared with us all!
